An LG Fix From the Family Down the Street
Superior households looking for dependable LG repair have an easier time when the shop is already a familiar part of town. PointLine is a family-owned, independent company, and all of our work runs out of a single office at 2600 S Rock Creek Pkwy #103. This is our home town too, and the owner's family lives here, so the kitchens and laundry rooms we visit belong to neighbors. We have no connection to LG. We simply know these machines well, repair them with genuine OEM parts and start every visit with a $85 diagnostic that is credited toward the repair, followed by a firm quote before any work begins.
LG appliances turn up all over town, from 1990s townhomes in Rock Creek to the rebuilt houses of Sagamore and Original Town, where many kitchens were outfitted fresh after the 2021 Marshall Fire. What these machines share is a heavy reliance on electronics: inverter motors, touch controls, sensors and boards that report trouble as a code on the display. That makes an accurate diagnosis especially important, because a code describes what the control noticed rather than which part failed. A drain error might trace to a clogged filter, a worn pump or a wiring fault, and replacing the wrong one costs you money and a second visit. We test first, then talk price.

Which LG Machines We Work On
From the kitchen to the laundry room, here is what we repair under the LG name and where each diagnosis usually begins.
LG Refrigerator
LG refrigerators can run warm when the evaporator ices over, a fan motor stalls or the defrost heater or sensor quits, and the compressor and its control board deserve testing before anyone condemns the sealed system. We check temperatures in both compartments, airflow through the vents, door seals and condenser coils, then read the compressor's behavior with a meter.
LG refrigerator repair in SuperiorLG Ice Maker
Ice makers on LG refrigerators, whether in the freezer or up in the door, tend to stop over a frozen fill tube, a tired water inlet valve, a clogged filter or a jammed auger in the dispenser. We trace the water path from the supply line to the tray, test the valve and the ice maker module, and look for ice buildup around the door chute and its seals.
LG ice maker repair in SuperiorLG Washer
LG front-loaders and top-loaders commonly stall over a clogged drain pump filter, a failing pump, worn shock absorbers or a door lock that won't confirm closure. We run test cycles, inspect the door gasket and drain path, and check the motor, its sensor and the lock before naming a part.
LG washer repair in SuperiorLG Dryer
When an LG dryer runs but stays cool, the usual suspects are a thermal fuse, a heating element or, on gas models, the igniter, valve coils or flame sensor, and a restricted vent can sit behind all of them. We measure exhaust airflow, check the drum rollers, belt and idler, and test the moisture sensor bars that decide when a load is dry.
LG dryer repair in SuperiorLG Dishwasher
LG dishwashers that leave water behind or wash poorly often have a clogged filter, a weak drain or circulation pump, or spray arms blocked with debris and scale. We check the filter and sump, test the pumps and heater, inspect the inlet valve and look at the leak sensor that can halt a cycle when water reaches the base.
LG dishwasher repair in SuperiorLG Oven
An LG oven that bakes unevenly or won't reach temperature may have a failed bake or broil element, a faulty temperature sensor, a weak gas igniter or a convection fan that has stopped turning. We compare the actual cavity temperature with the setting, test elements and sensors with a meter, and check the door gasket and hinges for heat loss.
LG oven repair in SuperiorLG Wall Oven
Built-in LG wall ovens add a cooling fan, a door latch and tight cabinet clearances to the usual list of elements and sensors. We confirm the cooling fan clears heat from the electronics, test the latch after a self-clean cycle, and protect the surrounding cabinetry if the unit has to come out of its opening.
LG wall oven repair in SuperiorLG Range & Stove
An LG range combines a cooktop and oven in one body, so a single visit can cover burners that won't light, elements that stay cold and an oven that runs hot or cool. On gas models we check igniters, spark modules and burner ports, and on electric and induction models we test elements, switches, relays and the control board.
LG range & stove repair in SuperiorLG Cooktop
LG cooktops fail in a few familiar ways: igniters that click without lighting, radiant zones that stay dark, or induction zones that refuse to start or flash a code. We test igniters and spark switches, element continuity and touch controls, and on induction units the power boards and cookware detection.
LG cooktop repair in SuperiorLG Microwave
Over-the-range and countertop LG microwaves that run without heating usually point to the high-voltage section, meaning the magnetron, diode or capacitor, while a dead keypad or quiet vent fan points somewhere else. We safely discharge and test the high-voltage parts, check the door switches that stop the unit from running open, and inspect the turntable motor, lights and exhaust fan.

Common Problems
LG Trouble Signs and What Sits Behind Them
Each symptom below has more than one possible cause, so your technician tests the actual appliance before a single part is ordered or priced.
The refrigerator section feels warm even though the freezer is still cold
- Likely causes
- Frosted evaporator, stalled fan motor, failed defrost heater or sensor, blocked air damper
- What we check
- Frost pattern behind the freezer panel, fan operation, defrost circuit continuity and air temperature at the vents
Washer won't drain or spin
- Likely causes
- Clogged pump filter, failed drain pump, kinked drain hose, door lock fault, unbalanced load detection
- What we check
- Filter and hose condition, pump resistance and operation, the lock signal and a test spin with a balanced load
Dryer runs but clothes stay damp
- Likely causes
- A blocked vent, a blown thermal fuse, a burned-out heating element, a worn gas igniter or valve coils, or a dirty moisture sensor
- What we check
- Exhaust airflow at the outside hood, heating circuit parts, the gas ignition sequence and the sensor bars
Ice maker stopped or dispenser dribbles
- Likely causes
- Frozen fill tube, weak inlet valve, clogged water filter, low supply pressure, jammed auger
- What we check
- Supply line and shutoff, filter age, valve output, ice in the fill tube and the module's harvest cycle
The dishwasher leaves dishes dirty or water sitting in the bottom
- Likely causes
- Clogged filter, blocked spray arms, weak circulation or drain pump, mineral scale, heater failure
- What we check
- Filter and sump, spray arm rotation, pump function, wash water temperature and fill volume
Oven or burner won't heat
- Likely causes
- Failed bake or broil element, weak igniter, faulty temperature sensor, spark module or relay fault
- What we check
- Actual cavity temperature, igniter current draw, sensor resistance and control board outputs
Superior Homes
Rock Creek, Rebuilt Streets and Hard Water
Here is where our town's houses, height above sea level and water supply show up inside an LG appliance.
Townhomes and rebuilt kitchens
Rock Creek is a master-planned 1990s neighborhood of single-family homes and townhomes, and our own office sits on S Rock Creek Pkwy. In Sagamore, most homes were lost in the December 30, 2021 Marshall Fire and rebuilt, and Original Town Superior was heavily damaged as well, with many houses rebuilt since. That leaves a mix of LG appliances that have served a household for years alongside newer ones installed in rebuilt kitchens. Townhome laundry closets and stacked pairs leave little room to work, so we plan each visit around access and protect the floors before anything moves.
Gas cooking at about 5,500 feet
The town sits at about 5,500 feet, and the thinner air changes how gas burns in an LG range, cooktop, oven or gas dryer. A burner that isn't set up for the elevation can show a lazy, yellow-tipped or lifting flame, and a dryer may heat slowly. Whenever we repair a gas LG appliance, we check flame quality and ignition along with the failed part. If you ever smell gas, shut off the supply and leave the house before calling anyone.
Hard water at the ice maker and dishwasher
Our water is hard, and it is supplied from Carter Lake, which is part of the Colorado-Big Thompson Project, along with Terminal Reservoir. Hard water leaves mineral scale in inlet valves, fill tubes, dishwasher spray arms, heaters and washer dispensers. On an LG refrigerator that can mean slow fills and small or hollow cubes, and on a dishwasher it shows up as white film and spotty glasses. Changing the refrigerator filter on schedule and keeping rinse aid filled helps, and we look for scale on any repair that involves water.
Know Your LG
Know-How for an Accurate LG Repair
For Superior households that want LG repair they can plan around, it comes down to a few habits we stick to on every call.
Reading the model and serial tag
LG places the rating tag in different spots by appliance, usually on a side wall inside the refrigerator, around the door opening of a front-loader or dryer, on the edge of a dishwasher door or tub, and behind the door or drawer on a range. The full model and serial number tells us which internal version you own, since two LG machines that look identical can use different boards, pumps or motors. A photo of the tag sent ahead of time helps your technician arrive with the right parts.
Smart features and control boards
Many LG appliances connect to Wi-Fi and push alerts through LG's app, and nearly all of them run on a main control board that manages motors, heaters and sensors. An app alert or a dark display is a starting point, not a diagnosis, so we test the signals going in and out of the board before replacing it. Boards are among the costlier parts, and a failed sensor or loose connector can make a healthy board look bad.
When an error code points to a specific system
Plenty of LG codes describe a process that went wrong, such as water arriving too slowly, a drain taking too long or a heater missing its target, rather than naming one broken part. A slow-fill code can come from a closed shutoff valve, a kinked hose, scale on the inlet screen or a failed valve. We work through that whole path with a meter and a careful look, so the repair fixes the cause instead of silencing the symptom.
Parts availability and genuine parts
We install genuine OEM parts ordered against your model and serial number, and every repair carries our 90-day parts and labor warranty. Common LG parts are widely stocked, while some boards, sensors and cosmetic pieces take longer to arrive. If a part has to be ordered, you hear the expected wait when we quote, before you agree to anything.
Repair or Replace?
Fixing an LG Versus Buying New
The lifespan chart beside this section, drawn from an NAHB study, shows how long each appliance type tends to last, and it gives you a reasonable frame for the decision. Within that frame, most LG repairs come down to one part: a drain pump, a fan motor, an igniter, a sensor or a heating element. When the rest of the appliance is sound, replacing that single part usually costs far less than a new machine and keeps a working unit out of the landfill. Because the diagnostic fee is credited toward the repair, getting a clear answer doesn't mean paying twice.
A new LG becomes the sensible choice when an aging refrigerator's sealed system fails, a washer's tub bearings give out late in life, or one costly repair would likely be followed by another. Energy belongs in the calculation too, since a refrigerator runs around the clock and a newer one may draw less power in the years ahead. Parts matter as well, because if a needed board or panel is no longer made, even a younger appliance can become hard to keep running. Your technician lays out the repair price, what else looks worn and whether the part can be had, then leaves the choice with you.
Typical lifespan by appliance
| Refrigerator | ~13 yrs |
|---|---|
| Washer | ~10 yrs |
| Dryer | ~13 yrs |
| Dishwasher | ~9 yrs |
| Oven | ~13–15 yrs |
| Wall Oven | ~13 yrs |
| Range & Stove | ~13–15 yrs |
| Microwave | ~9 yrs |

What Our Customers Say

“Nick was excellent. He was able to come out the same day as I discovered that my 21 year old refrigerator had been leaking for weeks or months. He was able to diagnose the problem quickly, ordered the part immediately, and was available within a couple of days to install the new part and finish the repair work. He was on time for both appointments, and called in advance. It’s hard to find people like this these days, I will highly recommend him and use him again if I have additional appliance failures.”
Noreen B.June 2026 · Google “Nick at Point View Appliance just fixed my Samsung dryer, and the entire experience was refreshingly straightforward. He diagnosed the issue quickly, explained what had gone wrong in plain English, and had everything working again without any drama or upselling. He was on time, professional, and clearly knows these machines inside and out. Good service has become surprisingly uncommon. When you find someone who shows up, communicates well, and simply solves the problem, it’s worth recognizing. If you need an appliance repaired, I’d recommend Nick without hesitation.”
Aquiles G.June 2026 · Google “Nick came the same day I called! Had my oven door handle and gas stove fixed up in a jiffy, all with great communication and a friendly and helpful attitude. I'll definitely be calling him again for any appliance repair needs I have in the future.”
