Viking Repair

Viking Repair Done With the Care Your Kitchen Deserves

A Viking kitchen is usually planned around serious cooking, with heavy burners, deep ovens and built-in refrigeration that sits flush with the cabinetry. When one piece stops working, the whole room feels off. We are a small, family-owned company based in Superior, and we treat these appliances with the patience they call for.

Your visit starts with a full diagnosis for a $85 fee, which is credited toward the repair if you go ahead. Your technician explains what failed and why, then gives you a firm quote before any work begins. Repairs use genuine OEM parts and are backed by our 90-day parts and labor warranty, and same-day service is often available.

Viking Appliances

The Viking Appliances We Service

From the cooking suite to built-in refrigeration, here is what we work on and the issues each tends to develop.

  • Viking Refrigerator Repair

Viking refrigerators commonly run warm because of dirty condenser coils, a failing evaporator fan or a defrost problem that ices over the coils. We repair cooling, airflow, defrost and control issues, along with door seals and hinges on built-in units.

    Refrigerator Repair
  • Viking Freezer Repair

A Viking freezer that frosts up, runs constantly or lets food soften often points to a worn gasket, a defrost heater fault or a struggling fan. We track down the cause and restore steady, cold temperatures.

    Freezer Repair
  • Viking Wine Cooler Repair

Wine coolers often drift out of their set range, form condensation or develop a noisy fan as components age. We diagnose thermostats, sensors, fans and seals so your bottles stay at a stable temperature.

    Wine Cooler Repair
  • Viking Ice Maker Repair

Ice makers commonly slow down or stop when scale builds in the water valve or when the fill line freezes. We clear and repair supply, harvest and control problems so ice production gets back on track.

    Ice Maker Repair
  • Viking Dishwasher Repair

Viking dishwashers can stop draining, leave dishes cloudy or pause with an E:01 or E:02 code. We repair pumps, drain paths, inlet valves, door latches and overflow-related faults.

    Dishwasher Repair
  • Viking Range & Stove Repair

On a Viking range, burners that click without lighting, weak flames or an oven that will not heat are common complaints. We service igniters, spark modules, valves, bake and broil systems and gas setup for Colorado altitude.

    Range & Stove Repair
  • Viking Wall Oven Repair

Wall ovens often heat unevenly, miss their set temperature or get stuck in a locked self-clean cycle. We test elements, sensors, convection fans, door locks and controls to find the real fault.

    Wall Oven Repair
  • Viking Cooktop Repair

Gas cooktops commonly have burners that will not light or keep sparking after the flame catches, usually from moisture, debris or a failing switch. We clean and repair ignition, valves and burner components.

    Cooktop Repair
  • Viking Range Hood Repair

A Viking hood may lose suction, grow loud or stop responding to its controls as motors, switches and lights wear. We repair fan motors, blowers, controls and lighting so smoke and heat clear properly.

    Range Hood Repair
  • Viking Microwave Repair

Built-in and drawer microwaves can stop heating, refuse to start or have doors that do not close smoothly. We diagnose door switches, controls and drawer mechanisms with safe handling of high-voltage parts.

Common Problems

Viking Problems Homeowners Commonly Run Into

Viking does not publish an official error code list for its ranges or refrigerators, so those are diagnosed by symptoms. These are typical issues across the line.

  • Burner clicks but will not light

    Likely causes
Moisture or food debris on the igniter, a misaligned burner cap, a worn spark module or a stuck igniter switch
    What we check
Igniter condition, cap seating, switch function, spark module output and gas flow at the burner
  • Oven not heating or not holding temperature

    Likely causes
A failed bake or broil element, a weak gas igniter, a faulty temperature sensor or a control issue
    What we check
Element and igniter readings, sensor resistance, oven calibration and control signals
  • Self-clean cycle stuck or door will not unlock

    Likely causes
A door lock motor or switch fault, or a sensor that thinks the oven is still too hot
    What we check
Lock mechanism, lock switches, temperature sensor and wiring to the control
  • Refrigerator not cooling

    Likely causes
Dirty condenser coils, a failing condenser or evaporator fan, a defrost fault or a worn door seal
    What we check
Coil condition, fan operation, defrost components, gasket seal and system temperatures
  • Dishwasher not draining or showing E:01 or E:02

    Likely causes
A clogged filter or drain hose, a weak drain pump, a leak triggering the overflow sensor, or a closed or restricted water supply
    What we check
Filter and drain path, pump function, overflow float and base pan, inlet valve and supply line
  • Range hood fan weak or noisy

    Likely causes
Grease-loaded filters, a worn motor or bearings, a loose blower wheel or a duct restriction
    What we check
Filters, blower assembly, motor draw, speed controls and duct path

Error Codes

Viking Dishwasher Error Codes

We repair every Viking appliance listed above. Viking publishes official error codes only for its dishwasher — they're below. For other Viking appliances we diagnose by symptoms, so just call and describe what's happening.

Note: from the 7 Series manual; other Viking dishwashers may signal faults with flashing lights.

Viking dishwasher error codes
CodeWhat it means
E:01Call a proOverflow — too much water came in, or a component is leaking. The dishwasher tries to pump the water out.If the code clears once the water is drained, keep watching it. If E:01 doesn't go away, it's a permanent fault — call for service.
E:02Try it yourselfNo water — the supply is cut or the inlet valve under the sink is closed. The cycle pauses until water returns.Open the water supply valve and make sure the house has water; the cycle resumes on its own.

Before You Call

Locating Your Viking Model and Serial Tag

Having the model and serial number ready helps your technician bring the right parts. Here is where the tag usually sits.

  • Refrigerator or freezer

Usually inside the fresh food section on an upper side wall or ceiling, or behind the top grille on built-in units

  • Dishwasher

Usually along the edge of the door or on the side of the tub opening, visible when the door is open

  • Range

Usually behind the kick panel at the bottom front or on the frame visible when the oven door or lower drawer is open

  • Wall oven

Usually on the oven frame or trim, visible when the door is open

  • Range hood

Usually inside the hood behind the grease filters

Care Tips

Looking After a Viking in Colorado

  • Have gas setup checked for altitude

Homes around Denver and Boulder sit roughly a mile high, so gas burners and ovens need correct setup for altitude. Yellow, lazy or lifting flames are a good reason to have the setup checked.

  • Keep burners and igniters dry

Spills and boil-overs commonly cause clicking or slow lighting. Let burner caps and heads dry fully after cleaning and make sure caps sit flat before cooking.

  • Stay ahead of mineral scale

Front Range water ranges from soft to moderately hard, and scale is common in ice makers and dishwashers. Change refrigerator water filters on schedule and clean the dishwasher filter regularly.

  • Clean coils and hood filters

Dust on refrigerator condenser coils makes the system work harder, especially in dry, dusty conditions. Washing hood filters every so often keeps the fan moving air without strain.

Repair or Replace?

Weighing a Repair Against Replacement

Viking appliances are often built into custom cabinetry, so replacing one can mean more than a delivery. A new unit may not match the opening, the panels or the rest of the cooking suite. Because these appliances are usually solidly built, repairing a failed igniter, element, fan or valve is often the more sensible path.

Replacement can make sense when a major sealed system component fails on an older refrigerator, when several costly parts are wearing out at once, or when you were already planning a remodel. Your technician will give you an honest read on the condition of the appliance and a firm quote, so you can decide with clear information.

Viking Repair Questions, Answered

Do you work on Viking ranges and ovens?

Yes, we repair Viking gas, dual-fuel and electric ranges, wall ovens and cooktops. That includes burners that will not light, ovens that will not heat or hold temperature, self-clean and door lock problems and gas setup for altitude.

How much is it to have a technician come out?

The diagnostic visit is $85, and it is credited toward the repair if you move forward. You get a firm quote before any work starts, so there are no surprises.

Are the replacement parts genuine Viking parts?

Yes, we use genuine OEM parts. They are made to fit and perform as the appliance was designed.

How long is the repair guaranteed?

Repairs carry a 90-day parts and labor warranty. If the same issue returns within that time, we come back to make it right.

My Viking dishwasher shows E:01 or E:02. What does that mean?

E:01 points to an overflow or a leaking component, and E:02 means the water supply is cut off or the inlet tap is closed. With E:01 the dishwasher tries to drain, and if the code does not clear it needs service. With E:02, check that the water supply is on, since the cycle pauses until water returns. Viking ranges and refrigerators do not have a published code list, so we diagnose them by symptoms.

Can you service built-in and panel-ready Viking units?

Yes, we work on built-in and panel-ready Viking appliances. Your technician takes care with custom panels, trim and cabinetry when access is needed.

Where do you provide service?

We serve 21 cities across the Denver Metro Area and Boulder County from our office in Superior. Call (720) 285-3573 to confirm your address and check availability.
